Introducing Hindsight Academy: Learn Agent Memory by Doing

Agent memory is easy to talk about and genuinely fiddly to wire up. You can read a hundred posts about retain, recall, and reflect and still stall at the first real question: what do I actually run, and in what order? So we built the thing that answers it by doing. Today we're launching Hindsight Academy: a free, hands-on course that takes you from "why does my agent forget" to a production memory-powered agent, one runnable step at a time.

The tagline says the method out loud: give your agent a memory, by hand.

The path: four courses, in order

The Academy is a path, not a pile of docs. It goes from the concept, to your first working loop, to a production agent, and each course assumes the one before it.

1. Agent Memory, Explained (beginner, 3 lessons, ~6 min). Start here. Why your agent forgets, what agent memory actually means, and what you can build once it remembers.
2. Give Your Agent Memory (beginner, 4 lessons, ~16 min). Your first success, in minutes. An interactive quickstart: run Hindsight, store a memory, recall it in a new session, and get a grounded answer with reflect.
3. Build a Memory-Powered Agent (intermediate, 8 lessons, ~32 min). The core tasks, then your stack. Store and recall the right things, keep each user separate, steer what gets remembered, keep memory fresh, then wire Hindsight into MCP, LangGraph, and CrewAI.
4. Take It to Production (advanced, 5 lessons, ~21 min). Run it for real. Choose Cloud or self-host, deploy with Docker or Kubernetes, pick your models, monitor and scale, and move data between banks.

That is the whole arc of shipping agent memory, from the first retain call to a multi-tenant deployment, in about an hour.

Lessons you run, not lessons you watch

Each lesson is short and built to be done. The concepts come with animated explainers that show what is actually happening inside memory, and the practical lessons drop you into live code against a real Hindsight instance. You store a real memory, open a fresh session, and watch recall pull it back.

The animation above is from the very first lesson: an agent is told to keep answers short and aim for Friday, and you watch which of those facts survive into the next turn. It is a small, honest demonstration of the problem the rest of the Academy solves.

Track your progress, earn certificates

Because it is a path, the Academy keeps your place. A dashboard shows what you have completed, what is left, and where to pick back up, and each course you finish earns a certificate.

It is a small thing, but it turns "I should learn agent memory sometime" into a checklist you can actually finish on a lunch break.

Who it's for

If you have never given an agent memory, start at course one and you will have a working retain-recall-reflect loop before the coffee is cold. If you already run agents in production, skip ahead to Take It to Production for the self-hosting, monitoring, and migration material. Either way it is free, and everything you run is real, not a sandbox that resets.
